In 1985, Aucnet became the first company in the world to begin used car auctions that utilized satellite communications. In 1997, the company launched the operation of a flower market that made use of an original information distribution system that it had developed over the years. Today, it has more than 3,300 growers and organizations making shipments for sales on the market. Meanwhile, there are over 1,355 buyers who make purchases through this flower market. The market is the only Internet flower market in Japan that has realized complete remote purchasing, handling an annual trading volume of over 7.5 billion yen.
ba*net is a flower market that achieves a complete separation of sales and logistics by utilizing an original information distribution system. It allows purchasing to be carried out fully from the home for the delivery of flowers to the store front while maintaining their freshness.
Buyers participate in this market from various regions all around Japan because purchases can be made from virtually anywhere.
Shipments are received at the distribution center located in Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture, where received shipments are then divided up and shipped for delivery to the customer. It is committed to enabling buyer members to make purchases with an ease of mind, such as through the execution of quality inspections.
1) After the arrival of a shipment, it is immediately divided up based on sales information.
2) Quality inspections are made on a routine basis to enable buyers to make their purchases with ease of mind.
3) All deliveries are made through shipments that are dedicated to the transport of fresh flowers.
4) The purchased merchandise is delivered to the store front or workshop, so purchasing is completed without any need to head out to a flower market.
On Fri., August 6, 2010, Aucnet obtained the MPS-Good Practice Auction certification from MPS, an international certification organization for the flower industry. It was the world's first MPS-GPA certificate granted to a flower auction that utilizes Internet communications.
